Hi chaps,

I've bought a 944 Turbo this weekend and this forum seems like a fantastic resource for information. The car itself seems to be in pretty good order having lived a relatively pampered existence (89K with full history).

That said, they'll undoubtedly be some questions from me as I get to know the car.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well it went, given it's only 220bhp.

This is my first Porsche, and a bit of an ambition realised for me. I come from a long background of M3's (E30, E36) and fast Audi's, but am now chuffed to bits to own something classic, relatively rare and that I shouldn't lose my shirt on provided nothing terrible goes wrong on it.

Cheers.

Ollie

Cheers Richard :-D

I've just been doing some research on my car and have stumbled across an old F/S advert for it when the previous owner sold it in 2011;

I nearly didn't buy it, as it appears remarkably clean and I do plan to use it quite frequently in all weathers. I'm planning to flood the sills with one of the rust prevention products mentioned on here pretty sharpish, as they look to be fairly mint and I'd like them to remain so.

Waxing the sills this time off year may do more worse then good. Could trap moister in them.

I'm waiting till next spring 2 do mine,

Have seen this car for sale several times From the same man in yorkshire looks lovely tho the reason I didn't go for it when I was buying mine is it had 90 000 miles then 80 000 and was doing 1000 miles a week and the mileage was going backwards so just do some research on the mileage

Sorry

Don't apologise chap, I asked for info on the car.

That said, all the checks (HPI & mileage on VIN) came back correct, and it does have all the MOT's and paperwork to support the mileage.

Would you mind telling me exactly what you know/have heard and being very specific?

Thanks, appreciate it.

Thanks for the warm welcome gents, much appreciated.

When I have a moment I'm going to scan in the paperwork for the car and upload it. As I said the paperwork and history of the car more than support the current mileage of 89k and I'm more than a little perturbed to think that there might be an Internet rumour about it relating to the authenticity of the mileage.

What a fantastic car though, I should have got one sooner.

Thanks,

Ollie

If you've seen the paperwork, that's more substantial than seeing an ad' on the internet. Perhaps the guy made a mistake on the ad, then corrected it? Plenty of internet rumours that are false, and that's a fact as I read it on the internet.

I'd say, enjoy the car and have fun. You only need to please yourself. :D

Thanks Lee.

I was and am of the exact same opinion. :D Just spoke to the P/O on the phone who confirmed he went through an almost identical thought process having just bought the car, and traced it back to the previous (previous!) owner putting up two separate adverts over the course of a couple of weeks and had taken a guess on the mileage due to being away from the car.

Anyway, bit of a turbulent start but looking forward to getting to know some of you gents over the coming weeks & months.

ATB

Ollie
