Hi People, Just to introduce myself as a new member form the Derby area. I'm the proud owner of a black 997 Gen. 2 for about a year now. Done a few track days, Cadwell, Oulton and Donnington. Have a visit planned to Spa and the Ring in June any other members partake in such activities? Technical?? Am I correct in believing the DFI engine in the Gen 2 997 is the A91 which is dry sumped? |

Hi and welcome. ![]() I stand to be corrected, but I'm sure the A91 3.8 engine in the Carreras and Turbos had a wet sump. It wasn't until the GT2 RS came out it was given a Metzger block that had a dry sump. I might be wrong though? ![]() |

I had no idea that any fairly recent 911 had taken the retrograde step of installing a wet sump motor, blimey, that cost cutting exercise could explain a few things, if we cast our minds back a few years to the earlier water pumpers ![]() |
