Hi all. I am planning my first venture into Porsche ownership, and cannot afford to waste my money.

My budget will get me a late 996, or a pretty new Boxster. I have seen some of each which look good in the ads, but I don't know enough to just go along and make a purchasing decision. A friend has recently bought a Boxster which he loves, but the dealer he used gets some poor reviews. I guess all dealers get poor reviews sometime, and it is always the bad news that gets posted, so I am ambivalent about what I read.

What I need is an expert to PPI any proposed purchase, and I read the name Peter Morgan all over the place.

Where do I go to contact him please.

I am in Northampton, but happy to travel to wherever the right car can be bought.

Just google Peter Morgan Porsche and you will find him. I think his site is something like PorscheInspections.co.uk - or close to it !

In Northampton you are within the the South Central region so my advice would be to decide clearly on 996 or Boxster by talking to a few owners, looking at theirs and getting views. Clearly they are different cars for different reasons and needs. It all depends on budget etc but with the 996 range then there is a whole lot of choice re types, seeing a few of them may help. My personal fave from the potential pool is the 996 C4s !

The 996 to buy is definately the C4S, any of the monthly Porsche mags will have a list of PPI companies in, I think 911 World has a section in the classifieds for PPI
