Hi, I'm Andy. I've been reading these pages for about a month now looking for info and advice on 944's, so thought it about time to introduce myself. (Once I'd got past the near impossible "guess the unreadable code" registration game!)

I bought my first Porsche, a 1985 944 at the start of October, as a project car, having found it on eBay.

"Pea" currently has no MOT, and needs a bit of TLC to get it back on the road after 3 years since the last tax disc expired.

Here's a couple of pics from the original ad:

And when it arrived at it's new home:

The plan is to have it back on the road for the (hopefully) nice weather and my birthday, in late March.

Thanks for looking,

Andy

Hi Andy :hello1: ,go to the 924/944/968 section and look at the first few threads.Loads of info there to keep you busy for a while.Lots of people on this forum have parts for sale, just ask for what you want and someone will get back to you! :) Best advice is to make sure the cambelt is changed or has been changed within the last 35000 miles or so or 4 years. Its kind of important!Hope youve got a good one and good luck with it.

Hi Andy and welcome :hello2:

Fortunately you're right in the middle of south central region territory who currently meet once a month in Evenley (more detail on the regions page).

They're a friendly bunch with a wealth of knowledge and contacts that you might benefit from.

If nothing else, it's worth popping down for the bacon rolls alone

Andy

Hi Andy and welcome.

I've got my 944 (same colour as yours) up on stands undergoing restoration of the underneath bits (front suspension, steering and brakes at the moment). If there's anything I can help with give me a shout.

Thanks for all the welcome messages :hello2: Looks like there's a very strong 944 "scene" local to me :)

Is there a "projects" section on here at all where I can keep track of progress as and when it's done?
