Hi there,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Luke and I've owned a lot of interesting cars over the years (including lots of Alfas, a Ferrari and a Lotus) but I have never owned a Porsche which is weird because when I was 13 years old my neighbour had a 924 that I thought, at the time, was the coolest car I had ever een and I swore I'd get myself one when I was older. Well, this morning I put down a deposit on a 2006 Porsche Cayman S, so it looks like I've finally come good on that promise to myself!

Personally I blame one of your board moderators, Jim. As he is a work colleague I suspect he has been planting subliminal messages in emails over the past couple of years in a bid to get me into a Porsche... :D

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and let you know that I may well be hanging around and asking some annoying newbie questions over the next couple of months so please bear with me!

Subliminal messages.... maybe, weaned you off VW anyway, although our Chairman is a fan boy as well.... when his R32 isn't broken that is!

Thanks everyone for the kind welcome. I should hopefully be picking my car up on Friday or Saturday, just in time for me to go away on business for three weeks, brilliant! It feels like I have been waiting for an eternity to get behind the wheel of my Cayman S already, so I will definitely get the most out of it this wekend and will pop back in to let you all know how I got on!

As for the colour, well, I'm new around here so don't want to rock the boat too much, but clearly silver is the fastest colour! :D
