hi,i have recently aquired an 89 944 lux,had it about 1 year and it has been perfect in every way and i love it,i do have a concern regarding cambelt tensioning,i live in the norfolk area and as yet cannot seem to find a garage who seems to understand/specialise in these,any recommendations of norfolk gargaes would be immensely helpful,many thanks....

Hi cant help you with a garage in your area ... However i can tell you the tensioning on the the timing belt on your car shouldn't be a problem for any mechanic who knows his onions so to speak the biggest concern is getting the balance shaft belt correctly timed , if it is fitted wrong the car will still run but run like a dog !!! . However anyone conversent with the mitsubishi shogun diesel engine should be able to help you as they use a very simular set up , and i would recommend that you have alll the tensioners and idler pulleys replaced at the same time as if they fail the cambelt replacement will be a waste of time and cost you big bucks and also change the water pump ... hope this helps you .
