Hello, just a quick "hi" to you all. I have an 1982 944 (manual everything bar the windows) owned these last 14 years, but SORN'd for last 4. Am in process of giving some overdue TLC mainly in the interior dept to begin with. Will be requesting a few tips and asking for any advice from wiser folk than me in due course. Will get some pics posted.

Have not searched the site well yet but are there any events occuring in the Wiltshire area soon?

regards

Charles

HI & welcome  Glad to hear that you are looking at recommissioning it rather than scrapping it. Some of the furrther west guys will be along in a minute to help with Wiltshire.

Thanks Jim.

No I couldnt scrap it. Despite my neglect, it starts up within half a crank turn each time I fire it up and it drives great. The interior just got grimey and then I had a water leak (battery tray area) which I have repaired. Its now water tight again, but I decided to take out the seat and carpets and have a good spring clean. Found a great guy to reupholster seats and my next task is to plan some new carpeting. All good fun.

Charles

Hi and welcome, there seems to be a lot of early 944 interest at the moment

Hi and glad to see another 1982 car getting back on the road. Mine is getting a little work and hopefully will give a summer of fun.

Thanks for the welcome(s) - appreciated.
Plan to take a few photos and record my progress over the coming weeks and months.

I am getting twinges of envy when I see a nice 944 on the road, so must get mine underway.
Had both front seats reupholstered and rear is away for same now. Plan to get some new carpeting down in the next few weeks. Need some dry days as all work is done on the drive.

Hi Charles,
Sorry for the late reply. Your location says Wiltshire, I suppose it depends if it's east or west side. I'm from the Bristol group, we meet at a pub called the Fox in Easter Compton on the first Tuesday of each month between 8pm and 10ish. Easter Compton is just off J18 of the M5. We would be pleased to see you.
