Hello from somewhere near Huntingdon. No pork on my drive yet but despite looking for nearly a year I'm still hopefull. There must be a mint 968 or maybe a 944 Turbo somewhere out there for me.

Regards
Paul.

Welcome to the forum and club mate, I got my 968 last May and you could say its been life changing, :shock: after looking and missing quite a few mine turned up on my doorstep 8) pistonheads seem to have the best choice, Ebay the best prices if your feeling lucky/brave, found mine on autotrader. Turbo's are that tiny bit quicker and far easier to tune where 68's are rarer, more exclusive, there are only 3 of us on here, don't discount a good 944 S2, still got the 3.0L, over 200 bhp and the best S2's sell for the same money as middling 968's, you pay's your money etc.
Happy hunting Paul

Cheers for the welcome, it's a 968 I'm looking for really now. I started out looking at Turbo's and very nearly bought a nice 250 bhp one from nearby but myself and the seller ended up around £500 apart and the deal didn't get done. Since then I suppose I,ve decided the looks of the 968 make up for the power deficit and I'm waiting for the right car to turn up.

Must say thats the best choice Paul but then I am somewhat biassed, :lol: I wanted a tiptronic, the Mrs wanted a cabby so my choice was 911 or 968 and fell for the 68's styling and handling, but even more its practicallity, with family in France, even the reduced load capacity of the cabby against the coupe is still more than adequate for 2 weeks touring. General concensus is that 16 inch wheels give best overall ride, 17 and 18 may look great but can be jarring off of the track, club sports seem to be attracting a price premium at the moment even though they were cheaper new as they make better track day cars, personally I prefare the leather, electric windows etc. that bit more comfort you get from the standard coupe as a pure road car

hello and welcome, good luck in the 968 hunt, 944 turbos are slightly quicker but arguebly need more fettling, so normally aspirated is the way to go in my humble opinion

I have to admit the choice of an easy 300 bhp from a Turbo v the better looking newer 968 makes the choice hard, I wouldn't be looking at the car while I'm driving it and enjoying the boost, but then again the 968 does look more up to date. Insurance is a big consideration too, I know I can get classic car cover but as soon as I start asking for the turbo mods to be taken into consideration I think the cover wouldn't be cheap.

Hi

Welcome to the forum, the mods don't make too much of a difference on a Classic Policy if the increased power has been compensated for with improved braking and handling.

Good luck with the search.

A slightly belated welcome to the Forum from another of the select group of 3 968 owners!

This 968 Coupe has just come up over on the 968 forum (I have no connection to the seller);

http://fmcservices.net/cms/index.php?page=for_sale

Not exactly local to you, but you may have to travel to find the right car. It will be worthwhile when you find the one :D
I'm based near Middlesbrough and my car came from just outside Leamington Spa!

Cheers for the info on the red car, I had seen it advertised. There was a nice looking one on PH I would have been interested in but it's miles away in Bolton and I have a lot on at the moment.
