Hi everyone.

Just bought my self a 944 S2. It's actually my sixth Porsche, but my first used 944.

Back in '85 i had a a used 924 then changed to a new 944 each year from 86-89. Colours were silver, grey, garnet red and the last a metalic blue 2.7 - had that one until 93. Had to sell it as times got hard.... All the above cars were automatics and came from Follets in London.

How I got here is:

I was browsing the net and thought I saw my old blue auto for sale, not far from where I live. As it turned out, it was not mine and had a lot of rust. Gave it a miss as I was dubious about it passing an MOT.

I'd always regretted selling my last Porshe which had bugged me for years, so I carried on looking for an auto. Unfortuneatly, there are not many out there to choose from, and I wanted something 'clean'. I then decided to look at manuals as well for more choice. I now own a very nice 944 S2 manual in Guards Red. Garnet red is my fav colour btw....

As you see, I'm really an auto guy, so mostly fighting with the clutch at the moment..lol

Also, being an OAP now, feeling a bit self concious driving it about. Dunno what the neighbours think....

James

Don't have any pix of the current one, will probably do that this weekend. Here's a few I can find of the late 80's. The Garnet I notice often come out looking like Guards in a lot of pix.

Welcome to the forum, nice introduction.

We can all relate to selling a car we really wish we hadn't. I have a few regrets on that front and wish I had kept my Cabby, not convinced I would have used it much but it would be sat there if I wanted to. :)
