Having realised I’ve been lurking for over ten years, and in the second year of membership of TIPEC, I thought it was about time I posted something.

I’m based in West Oxfordshire. I’ve had my Boxster for almost 20 years. Up until last year, it was serviced by PC Swindon from new but I now entrust service work to JGC at Brackley - James is a great guy. I have also undertaken a lot of work on the car myself. It started out as my everyday driver but is now a cherished classic only going out in the summer on dry days. It doesn’t come out in the winter when there’s salt on the roads.

I’ve been involved in the Porsche scene over many years having been a regional organiser with the other lot for a long while. Some of you may know me from the early days of the Sunday Scrambles at Bicester when myself and friends used to run the big Porsche displays on the runway. The picture of the Boxster was taken in one of the hangars up there BTW. Those were the days when we managed to get over 500 Porsches up there until all the fun went out of it.

I’m also a big VW Transporter fan and have one of the last T6.1 campervan conversion. Vanlife has certainly become something of an obsession this past six months. That said, I’ve managed to spend some time on the Boxster recently replacing its front brake discs and pads, and, after a painful experience when the front trunk fell on my head, replaced both trunk gas struts. The main tasks on my ‘To Do’ list are replacing the AC condenser and drier, and retro-fitting cruise control. These will have to wait until the Spring.

I look forward to catching up with you sometime in the New Year.
