I have just joined the forum as I am intending to buy a classic Porsche.

The car I am considering has been recently imported from abroad. If I find that it does not have a registration document from the country it has been imported from can any body please help me to contact Porsche - the manufacturer NOT a dealer so they can certify the build date from the chassis number. I have trawled the internet without success - the DVLA insist that it has to be the manufacturer's office the letter comes from not a dealer. I am waiting for a dealer to see if they can advise me but I thought I would ask on here.

If you email Marc Noack at Porsche Germany classics dept,
Ask nicely for a vehicle specification for your car, he will need the chassis number
Marc.Noack@porsche.de
he should also be able to give you build details etc it you ask nicely
