Good evening all.
New member here, would like to say hello to you all.
Proud owner of a 2002 996 Targa with a few mods.

I do have a question to ask, which I will write here but will also post in the relevant area.

My Targa roof does not work so well, (and didn't when I first bought the car a few months ago). I removed the motors and cleaned them, put the back together and re-installed but the roof opening/closing has become worse.

I am thinking of replacing the motors which are made by Siemens (P/No 996 624 221 00).
I have found some motors for sale (used) but these are P/No 996 624 221 01 which look identical.
Can anyone advise if these will be okay to use?

Will replacing these motors make it better or am I looking at a deeper issue..........the worm cable mechanism for example?

Thanks guys

Simon

Have you seen the number on the used part ?

996 624 221 00 is correct as per the parts listing but there is no listing for the part ending in 01

Maybe they have just listed it incorrectly

Even with good motors, if the rest of the mechanism and cable etc are dirty then it will be slow.

Sadly don't know how to strip it all but worth doing
