Hi All,

Just moved from my old Lotus esprit to the slightly more daunting 928 S4 1991.
Right.
So, I got her home after a great drive from north London and all seems fine..... which is weird because im used to something blowing up or falling off from my previous car ownership!
She seems great, Cam belt hasnt been changed since 2007 so i think thats on the cards and the tyres are a little 'thin' so will need changing... Any tips? Ive looked into the belt change and it seems the tensioner needs to be rebuilt and a 1000 mile checkup done with a tensioner gauge on the belt after... but other than that everything works! even the lumbar support so i think ive bagged a goodun.

Looking for a club meet now to get to grips with the ownership side of things now but so far so good.

Hi :)

If you are having the belt done then have the water pump changed as well if of unknown date.... they should BOTH be CHANGED every 4 years, no matter what the mileage is...also get the thrust bearing checked (5 minute job) and adjusted if needed, because if you don't do it it can destroy the crank/engine...

Who are you getting to do the work (cambelt pump ) etc ?

Oh and if you say that both the AIRCON and the Cruise control work, you definitely got a good one...

And welcome lol :)

All the best Brett :)
