Fleet report or members rides?

Post by duncs »

Having just joined and received my first issue (thanks for that!) I didn't notice anything along the lines of a running report or members' rides report - has this been featured before and did I miss it?

I always remember when I subscribed to publications like Autocar & Motor they always had a fleet report each month which updated on the cars they were running and it was always good reading even if they were running Fords and Volvos! It'd be interesting to me to read about another owner who was running a 944 or someone who had just bought one. There are also some really interesting project cars out there and updates on those would be interesting. Kat's turbo from the 944 forum on here for instance would make for good (and useful) reading and similarly I have just re-entered 944 ownership after 5 child-induced years of absence so what now follows will be some kind of adventure. Would a running report series like this be of interest?

There are 3 reports in the December issue a 968/944/911. We very much welcome reports about members cars, why you bought it, how does it compare, what you have done to it, where you have been it? Etc.

We also require articles about specific D.I.Y repairs, these will require plenty of pictures to illustrate, how to etc.

We do not have a fleet section, like some publications. Personally I find them a bit old hat and boring to be honest, miles since last month 120, costs this month £0 etc.

If anyone is interested in writing a report but not sure where to start or what is required please drop Tony or myself a note. :D
