Post subject:  Brooklands New Year's Day 2010

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to check that there will be a TIPEC presence again at Brooklands on the 1st January. Last year was great, with a TIPEC-designated parking spot along with the other car clubs. I think most of us arrived at about 10.45am and were able to congregate for a chat before moving on to look at the exhibits.

I'd be grateful if somebody could confirm the format for this year.

Regards,
Lindsay

Lindsay, yes there is Keith Funnell is organising this from a TIPEC perspective. I'd suggest you pop him a mail.

What a lovely day we had at Brooklands, and a super turnout with attendance substantially up on last year. If you'd like to see some shots they're here:

Nice pics Lindsay. How many Porsches rolled up?

Not very many. There were tons of them last year. I parked in the TIPEC area and there were 5 Porsches - a lapis blue Boxster, a lovely torquoise classic 911, me, a nice red classic 911, and a fabulous red more-classic one (perhaps from the 1950s). I had a nice chat with its owner.

I know this is a naughty thing to say on a Porsche forum, but if I could have taken something home .... it would have been that yellow Ferrari Dino .... swoon.

Hi J.J - just checked the gallery and it's fine - I suspect you may have mistyped the password - space and case sensitive so you'll need to ensure that jan is all in lower case.

Great shots, shame to hear that Porsches were not out in force. We will have to sort that for next year.

How's the Porker these days?

Hi Sean, yes I agree it was odd to see so few Porsches, very strange, especially as there were more of everything else.

Bambi's fine, but on the way to Brooklands I stopped for petrol and a huge puddle of water appeared underneath her! Can't fathom what it was, there was no coolant in it (I got a man to taste it) and the engine temp stayed where it should. Oh well, she's due for a service in the next couple of weeks so if it's anything I'll find out then.

Hope your gorgeous car is behaving itself!

Cars with aircon sometimes do this and it's not a problem unless you don't have aircon!
