Curry Run - Sunday 24th May 2015

With just two weeks to go until our annual Curry Run, I have to book the table at the restaurant.
So if you intend to join us on the run, can you please confirm your interest by email or call/text on 07958459725

We will be meeting at The Novello at 09:30 on Sunday morning, or you are more than welcome to just join us for lunch.

Our route from the Novello will take us to the White Lion Nr. Blackbusche Airport where they have a monthly classic car meeting and on the 24th, the featured marque is Porsche.
We will stop for just under an hour, enough time for a coffee and a nose around the cars.
The run back to The Cinnamon Tree will take us through the country lanes of Hants, Surrey and Berks and will be just over an hour.

The cost of the lunch is £10 (that does not include drinks and any extras)

Schedule

09:30 Meet at Novello SL6 3RX
09:45 Depart Novello for the White Lion
Hartley Wintney, RG27 8AE
10:45-11:00 Arrive White Lion
11:45 Depart White lion for The Cinnamon Tree SL4 4SJ
13:00 Arrive Cinnamon Tree
13:15 It's curry time

Printable routes will be supplied by email prior to the event and we will depart in smallish groups, so you can follow the group leader rather than read the routes.

Hope to see you there

Jason

That was a great day out,

We started from the Novello our TV HQ at 9:30
Where we met a couple of newbies, Roger & Sue and Michael. Well, I say newbies, they have been members for a while now but like many members around the country, they just hadn't managed to get down to a monthly meet before or one of our days out.

A spirited drive down through Berks and into Hampshire saw most of the 8 cars ignore the directions I printed out and try to follow the rest of us.
Within a few miles I seemed to have just two cars behind me and after a left turn at a roundabout, I was suddenly all alone.
After waiting for a few minutes some more appeared in the rear mirror and we carried on.
with just a mile to go most of the others popped out from a sideroad in front of us and we arrived on mass at the White Lion for their Classic Car morning.

This is a nice venue for a Sunday morning meet and isn't to far from the stomping grounds of South East and Southern regions
Next time it's Porsche specific, i'll organise a multi region meet

One of our new friends wanted to know if my 924 was standard as he couldn't keep up

We spent an hour looking at the other cars there, everything from 1940's hot Rods to Sierra Cosworths and being a Porsche theme today, there were around 20 Porsches, including our 8 plus 2 more we were meeting there.

A fab run back to the Cinnamon Tree, especially the last ten miles through the fast twisty bits, For those that went the direct route back, you missed all the fun

Finally the reason for the drive was indeed the curry and it didn't disappoint. I am now a stone heavier and not sure i can eat until wednesday.

See you next May for a repeat
