The IAM event for the Southern Region which Phil helped to organise made the front page of their newsletter.

I can say that we all learnt valuable tips from driving accurately around the course that was laid out. The event was one of the reasons that Phil was awarded Southern Region Member of the Year at the Christmas dinner.

Thanks,
Nick

Cool, sounds good!
I'd like to do something like an advanced driving course...

Well here's the place to start :-
http://www.iam.org.uk/
I took the plunge last March, it's well worth the effort (and £139) passed the Test last June :) .
(Used their Insurance co for our 1st New Car Volvo XC70 in Sept £189. :bounce: )
They do have reduced offers on occasionally at local group level especially for young people :x
Would certainly recommend it.

Thanks Clive. Just read it takes 3-5 months to complete...
I was hoping I could have it done in an intensive course before I buy a Porsche in the next couple of weeks! Still worthwhile though, and should knock some money off the insurance quote, as well as make me more confident in potential adverse circumstances.

This is the first step, after that it's how to REALLY gain control of the car in spins skids etc and knowing the limit of the car...
