This listing will be updated from time to time, so please look in now and again to check you are up to date. Note I am now adding names below each event for who is planning to attend. Get yours down now (reply below or email me)!
Three little requests:
1. Please do suggest other events and ideas, and give feedback on the ones appearing here.
2. It would be great if Thames Valley members would let me (Craig) know if you are attending an event. I’ll be doing most of them so it would be great to travel together
3. Join in, have fun and enjoy your car!
7 MARCH 2010
Goodwood Breakfast Club Run
This will entail an early start. Meet at McDonalds at Madejski Stadium (A33 Reading just off M4 J11) at 6.35am for a PROMPT 6.45am departure. We will travel via the A33 going south, then hook up with some other Porsche's from the PCGB on the A3. This is a change of start point from that previously published!
New Year Run - Sunday 3rd January POSTPONED - WILL BE RE-SCHEDULEDAfter the festivities, and the day before most of us go back to work and the January drudgery, we'll be setting out early on Sunday morning for a brisk (!!!) run around the local countryside on some fabulous driving roads. Yes, they do exist in the Thames Valley - you just need to know where to look, and to some extent, be on them at the right time of day! Paul Mabley is organising the route, with input from Nick Ramsay. These are two of our region's most committed drivers and, subject to weather conditions, I can guarantee a route that'll raise your heart rate and remind you what driving a Porsche is all about!
We'll have a few hours driving with a comfort stop or two, and will adjourn for lunch to a nice pub somewhere. We can accommodate up to 12 cars before things get complicated with the need to register the event with Police and the Motor Sports Association, so please get your name down now to guarantee your place on this run. And to add to the fun, Geoff Symonds has thrown down the gauntlet and promised he will assemble one working 928 for this event out of the parts he has lying around his workshop - first time we'll have seen one running for at least two years I think! Go Geoff!

Goodwood Breakfast Club - Sporting family FavouritesAnything with four seats and a sporting flavour is welcome to this one, but I'm afraid the Caymans and Boxsters won't be able to park up in the paddocks. Or hardcore GT3's I suppose...

Santa Pod RWYB dayThis is a TIPEC national event and offers the opportunity to both ruin your clutch and see how quickly your car can run the quarter mile. Usually a measure of performance that only the Americans (and people with old VW's) get excited about, but there should be some interesting metal running on the day.

Prescott Hillclimb Open Classic Car EventCheltenham Cleeve Vale Rotary Club invites classic vehicle owners to an event to be held on the weekend of 8 and 9 May 2010. The event is open to all pre-1980s vehicles but exceptions may be made at the discretion of the organisers for particularly interesting vehicles (that means us, guys...).
Paddock Parking and Hill Runs
Sunday will be devoted to display and driving the famous hill, with passengers if you wish, in marshalled but un-timed runs. Un-timed runs eliminate the need for crash helmets and the full gamut of safety equipment etc. However vehicles must have valid road tax, MOT and insurance documentation. The Paddock entry fee is £46 per vehicle (inclusive of 2 runs up the hill, all passengers and a souvenir programme). Entries are limited to 200. Additional runs if available will be £5 each.
To attend this event YOU MUST BOOK EARLY - LIKE NOW - TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT!
The entry form is here:

Poole Quay Another gathering on the quayside at the invitation of the Poole Quay authorities. I went last year (it ran twice in 2009) and it was a pleasant event. Lots of nice cars, some excellent fish and chips and good company. It does require an early departure from work though - but as it's a Friday it's a great excuse to start your weekend early.

Modern Porsche Day at Porsche Experience Centre At Silverstone Circuit, the home of British motorsport, in the heart of England. Located next to Hangar Straight, we are on the site of the WRC Rally of Great Britain special stage used in the late 1990’s.
I'm trying to find out more about this event and what it offers - will post up more details when I have them.

4 June 2010 - The Think Pink Ball, OxfordPlease see the seperate post in the Gruppe South forum for more details, but this is a charity ball in aid of raising funds for Breast Cancer Research. Both TIPEC and PCGB Thames Valley regions are supporting this event, which deserves good attendance from our membership. Please get on board! All regions welcome of course!
5 June - TIPEC Party, BBQ, Disco and Live Band. Camping available on site. Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon Warwickshire.
6 June - TIPEC10 "The Porsche Show" HMC, Gaydon. These are the club's main events for 2010 and a really good day out. The big USP for the show on Sunday is the opportunity to run your car at speed on the Gaydon test track, plus the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust's excellent museum. Always a good turnout and a great day out. It would be great to get a good attendance from Thames Valley this year, so please REGISTER!!!

Goodwood Breakfast Club - Supercar Sunday! That's for us, people! Well, perhaps not quite the less powerful Porsche models (including mine, sadly), but go anyway. It's an early start by the way and unfortunately it clashes with the TIPEC Porsche Show at Gaydon, but I put it up as an alternative. Unfortunately I can't do both!

Classics at the Castle This is one I haven't made it to yet, and am keen to get to in 2010. The meeting features the Porsche Classic model types built between 1950 and 1973 and we expect a plethora of 356, 912, pre impact bumper 911’s, 914, 914/6 and 2.7 Carrera RS models as well as some competition cars from the same era.
There will be exclusive parking for Pre 74 Porsches, and dedicated parking for more modern Porsches. You don’t have to come in a Porsche to be part of the experience. Hedingham Castle is situated in the village of Castle Hedingham, half a mile from the A1017 between Cambridge and Colchester.
