Saturday 18th April 9.00am

Trip to Autofarm, the well established Porsche specialists north of Oxford.

There will be free diagnostics on a first come first served basis. A visit is particularly of use to Boxster and 996 owners, as they will arrange for their engine rebuild guru to show what it is that goes wrong with them, and the solution that they have engineered to get rid of the two main causes of engine failure. They will also arrange for some interesting 911s to be available as talking points.

Once finished we will head off for a pub lunch

The morning went very well with quite a few new faces around who I think had recently joined the club and one guy in a 997 who just came along without knowing a club event was happening.

Lindsey had her alignment checked (I mean her Boxster) and Pete's 944S2 had a thorough inspection up on the ramp.

Collective gasps of shock when we heard of Alan's £8500 new engine in his Boxster S supplied by Autofarm after an intermediate shaft failure at 80 mph destroyed his 70K mile engine at Christmas and a very interesting 911ST that was being put together for historic racing using flared rear arch panels that are apparently made in Poland (I didn't think there was anyone left in Poland).

The orange car is a 1985 backdated fitted with 3.2 engine, VERY loud (but superb sounding) exhaust, lightweight interior with full cage. Not sure all details but for sale at £29K (its on website)

The black car is very nice fitted with 964 engine again backdated , not sure on price but looks good

The Cayman has been featured in one of the mags , has a 3.7 engine and a lot od carbon fibre panels

The last two are of the technician replacing a lamda sensor in a 964 exhaust. Oh to have oxy acet in garage at home . Made it a 5 min job
