Hi All,
Does anyone know what the infield parking is like bearing in mind the mudbath at F1.
Will it be better to park outside and walk in- i would prefer to be infield but weather
has not improved much.
Any thoughts anyone.
Cheers
Ron

It was still pretty damp today, no big problem on foot at present but it might not be too clever once a few heavy vehicles have been over it.

I was a very mild day today at Silverstone with a good stiff breeze so it's drying out as long as we don't have any more rain, but you'd get better odd's on picking the winning lottery numbers than you would forecasting the weather.

What are the plans for travel, are people meeting up before hand to go in convoy?

Is there a meet at Warwick Services did I hear?

At Silverstone we do not have someone there organising the parking on the pitch.

Please park in straight lines and reasonably close to the car next to you. Every year we suffer from some very dodgy parking, some would call it abandonment of Porsches. :)

Looking forward to it.

A had a really good day today, just what the doctor ordered after a tough week at work :)

I met Geoff at Jacks Hill Cafe for a breakfast, then onto the event. The racing was close with lots of action :)

Our pitch is next to the main road into the infield.

A good mix of cars displayed today, the mud is drying up. Those going Sunday will have a great time, don't forget your sun cream 8)

As a newbie, I can't get my head around the fact that the turn out for Hatton Country was huge and the attendance for Silverstone was, well low.

These two venues are about 1 hour apart maxuimum, so I'm just wondering why ?

It is a combination of many things.

Time of year, kids holidays, cost, family appeal, weather.

The whole event seemed quieter to me.

I think Hatton is well attended as free event with attractions for all the family. The Silverstone event is to my mind one of the best in the year BUT it is getting expensive with the early bird offer still costing £80, this along with the captive audience approach to pricing inside (£1.80 for small bottle of water!) makes it an expensive day if you want to take wife and children. The weather has not been good and everyone could see the parking would be difficult. As it happens not too bad Saturday, Friday i parked on PCGB side and car was sinking in to ground after the downpour during the day, parked with the TIPEC guys Saturday (its OK i am member of both clubs). This coupled with the fact that even after this many years Silverstone have still not sorted out entry to circuit, multi lines in condensed to 2 getting through gate puts people off
For me will still be booking for next year :D

Sean

I think anyone would be hard pressed to say that event did not cater for families they had a full fun fair and the weather today was fantastic, the buses going around the circuit were continually packed with people waiting at the bus stops

I went all three days, and I'll give you that Friday was quite, but not Saturday and certainly not today.
