WEDNESDAY 1st September 2010
TIPEC SCOTLAND
Stewart Gordon welcomed everyone along this evening and there was an excellent turnout once again with 14 porkers and 21 bodies at tonight’s meeting.

Firstly a big thank you for all who participated in the fund raising CCLASP day out on the 8th of August. A total of £5,850 was raised for the charity and as a small thank you keep sake to each driver and helper will receive a cd with all the pictures that were taken on the day. A special mention for Stewart Gordon and Brian woods for there organization of the day and it went without a hitch I have to say. In addition a special thank you to all the sponsors and to George McGregor for the contacts to the sponsors.

Next was the up and coming shows for this month and the last of the season. Firstly Selkirk classic car show on the 19th of September, meet details will be the Halfords car park( EH20 9PW), just of the Edinburgh city bypass at Straiton retail park for 0830 am depart 0845am ish, spaces still available.
The week after on the 26th of September will be the East Fortune Magnificent machines show, plenty for all the family here folks, monster trucks, quad bikes, dodgems and free access to Concorde are but a few things on offer also it will be the TIPEC Scottish region concourse day so have them polished up for this day plenty trophies on offer, meet details will be exactly the same as above for the Selkirk show. The Selkirk show will be subject to a £2 admin charge which goes directly to the Selkirk organizers.

Next on offer for October will be a curry/bowl night on the 13th of October (wed night) this will be held at Deer Park in Livingston and all names to Stewart Gordon
ASAP. This will be a TIPEC and Porsche Club GB night and please be there for 7pm sharp.

Next Stewart gave a big thank you to James McLaughlin who has put together the autumn weekend away. The dates are confirmed as the 10th,11th and 12th of September and this is a trip to the lakes and will be staying at The Cumbria Grand Hotel and the price is £48 per person and includes dinner bed and breakfast. The meet on the Friday will be at Abington services at approx 1030am for an 11am depart to the lakes and the Friday will consist of a visit to Porsche Kendal for 3pm and on the Saturday James has put together a visit to the Lakeland Motor Museum followed by a boat trip to Ambelside . Sunday will be possibly be a visit to the Steam Railway .The Hotel stay will be for the Friday and Saturday Night and optional for anyone wishing to stay the Sunday night at the same rate. Next was the mention of the new Scottish region website will be up and running anytime now http://www.tipecscotland.co.cc The website will host a variety of topics from monthly meeting minutes, pictures of attended shows, xmas party nights, items for sale etc etc The national website http://www.tipec.net is an excellent website still folks with superb forums and a separate section for each region etc etc .Many thanks to Lee leader for the Scottish website.
Next was a big welcome to new members Mark Brennan and Dave Colvin who have recently joined the region, welcome along guys and hope to see you possibly at the up and coming shows later in the month.

Next was an excellent suggestion from James McLauchlan that the winter meets i.e. November, December and January will centre on a typical meeting with a quiz night all in one and was welcomed by all at the meet and we look forward to that so brush up on your Porsche and general Knowledge folks.

Those of you members who require servicing or any other work to your Porsche, may I remind all that Brian Miller motors, Edinburgh TEL NO.0131 443 7806 IS A PORSCHE SPECIALIST AND IN GERMAN MARQUES. Brian is a Porsche trained mechanic and has over 40 years experience in the business.

A reminder also that anyone wishing to submit an article for the next ALL TORQUE magazine please get this into Tony ASAP to arrange. His contact details are tony@typescape.com He is looking for Porsche related articles or pictures possibly a project recently undertaken or recent trip out! So get pen to paper or fingers to the keyboard.

Please remember we are at the The Bo-Ness Motor Museum, Bridgeness Road, Bo-Ness,EH51 9JR. for our monthly meet please come along 8pm start time. This venue has light refreshments and a car museum all under one roof not to mention a good sized car park.
