WEDNESDAY 7th APRIL 2010 TIPEC SCOTLAND MINUTES Stewart Gordon welcomed all to tonight’s meeting, 26 bodies and 15 porkers in the car park. A warm welcome to the CCLASP team who were here to check over disclosure Scotland forms. Just a reminder that if you have not already got your disclosure Scotland form or you wish to participate on the 8th of August then please see Stewart Gordon for this form. It is a very worthwhile cause for the Children with cancer charity. It was said that on the day photographs of the kids would only be allowed with permission from the parent or guardian. Many thanks to all who are joining in on this one it will be a great day out for everyone and it is my understanding that the drivers will be catered for on the day with reference to food and drink. Next mentioned was the Porsche Centre Glasgow opening night on the 21st of April. Please contact Stewart for those wishing to attend this evening. The Scottish Region long awaited BBQ will take place on Sunday the 25th of April (WEATHER PERMITTING LOL!!) Venue will be Kinshaldy Beach. Please feel free to arrive from 1130 onwards. You will only need to bring yourself and a pound coin, all food and beverages will be free!! Names to Stewart ASAP. From Edinburgh: Cross the Forth road bridge and continue north on the M90, leaving the motorway at Junction 8. Take the A92 through Cupar toward St. Andrews. Continue on this road until you reach the roundabout at Guardbridge. Take the A919 Leuchars road (left), past the turning for R.A.F. Leuchars and continue straight ahead. Upon Entering Leuchars, there is a small roundabout, with a sign for Kinshaldy Beach pointing to the right.. Simply follow the signs! The Tentsmuir Forest Car park is 4 miles or so from here.. . From Dundee: Cross the Tay Road Bridge and follow the A92 southwards for about two miles before joining the A92 for Leuchars. On reaching the roundabout in Leuchars, follow the directions given above to the Tentsmuir Forest car park. Follow the path from the Forestry Commission car park which leads on to the (textile) beach. Once on the beach, turn right and head south , passing a blue and yellow cylinder with a number 4 on it. (July 2001 - the blue and yellow buoy is reported to be "now quite tatty and faded.. more like a plastic oil drum filled with sand). The (unofficial) naturist section is a short way beyond. Naturist use has also been reported to the left (north) of the access point. Description The beach consists of "three miles of golden sand" backed by sand dunes. At low tide the beach is often a mile wide with "ample scope for nude sun and sea bathing". Behind the dunes there is a wild life conservation site, please respect The signs and keep out! Next is the East Kilbride show, the museum of rural life which is on Sunday the 2nd of May names etc have already been taken for this one and we will be meeting up at the car park near Strathclyde park, just outside the Toby Carvery for an 0830 meet 0900 depart for the show. A free £5 lunch voucher will be issued on the day to all exhibitors and you can spend it at the restaurant within the Museum or at the catering van outside. The museum is also free to exhibitors on the day. Next was the Spring weekend run and Fastlane supercar show at Corbridge in Northumberland. For those who are travelling down on the Saturday we are staying over night at the innkeepers lodge at nr Newcastle Airport, Ponteland road, Kentonbank, Newcastle-upon-Tyne NE3 3TY. The cost is £59.95 per room per night and will include continental breakfast. I have listed the names etc for those going so far and there requirements. The room will be paid on arrival in full and those wishing to cancel less than 5 days prior to the 15th of May will be subject to the full room rate cost. Next was the Mention of Gaydon and Thirlstane which are both on the same day the 6th of June. The Gaydon show folk’s is the National event at Gaydon and I have names etc already for this and accommodation this year will be at the Dun Cow Vintage Inn, Innkeeper's Lodge Rugby South, The Green, Dunchurch, Rugby, CV22 6NJ Tel: 0845 11 26 073 This will be approx 10 miles from the show. On the old Waverley steam boat, leaving from the Science Museum on the river Clyde on the 16th of July and tickets are keenly priced at £20 per head.
