Post subject: | Scottish December monthly meeting minutes 2009 (ammended) |
WEDNESDAY 2nd DECEMBER 2009 TIPEC SCOTLAND MINUTES Stewart Gordon welcomed all to tonight’s meeting 16 bodies and 7 porkers in the car park on a some what chilly winters evening. Stewart confirmed that the SVVF membership had been approved and all current members would receive there year book in due course for the forthcoming 2010 events etc. Christmas party night meet details will be as follows for those travelling on the Friday and Saturday it will be The Duck Bay Marina Loch Lomond Postcode for those with the sat navs is G83 8QZ or The Woodside Hotel, Stirling Road, Doune Postcode FK16 6AB. The time is set for 12 midday those wishing to travel together or at leisure yourselves. Stewart then went on to mention the winter meets, these meets are in addition to the normal first Wednesday of the month and are done so that we can hopefully reach members that are unable to come to the normal venue maybe for distance reasons or are unable to attend as it is a week night so these meets will be in various locations (see list below) and proved to be very well attended last winter and the initial idea came from you the members and a great idea it was folk’s. They make up a Sunday away combined with a social and keep you up to date with club movements etc again as I have already mentioned maybe for those who do not normally make the Wednesday meets and a little something different for the normal guys and dolls who attend the Wednesday meets. January 17TH winter meet- Scottish Borders/Peebles Castle Venlaw hotel EH45 8QG. February 21st Atholl Arms Hotel, Blair Atholl. With a visit to Bruar Fall for those who might want to have a look about & maybe a little shopping. (exact meet details to be e-mailed to region by Stewart Gordon) March 21st March at Brunston Castle Golf Club, along with the meeting we will have a small treasure hunt for those who fancy a challenge. (exact meet details to be e-mailed to region by Stewart Gordon) Next on the agenda was the suggestion forms for the forthcoming season and again these will be circulated via e-mail to each member, those with no e-mail facilities, please contact Stewart direct and he will make them available ASAP. Again folk’s this idea came from you the members and has proved to be a great way forward with new ideas etc so we look forward to your suggestions for the season ahead and please remember we are unable to commit to all suggestions, however we have implemented many suggestions over last 2 years and had some great days and evenings out. It will be in the most sincere hope we get good weather for the long awaited BBQ next season as rain stopped play in August this year. We will be looking forward to your suggestions in due course at the January meet. Again at the turn of the year we open the door for those who wish to be put forward for the position of RO (Regional organiser) and ARO (Assistant regional organiser x2 positions) As we have said before we are not set in stone in these positions and anyone wishing to be put forward may do so. We look forward to your comments good or bad on the current RO and ARO’S as we always try 100% to carry on the region as you the members would want it to be. The current RO and ARO’S are not the region’s bosses as such but are here to fulfil member’s wishes and suggestion to take the club forward and we are always in your hand guys and dolls to take the region forward. Next was the region’s charity contribution, this folk’s was an idea in that rather we send Xmas cards all round we would pledge the money (purely on a voluntary basis) to a designated charity, the region has donated £50 plus members contributions and we are currently sitting at about£150 so far and you can make your donation to Stewart, Alan or myself. We will be presenting the money to the CHAS charity which is a Children’s cancer charity sometime after the New Year and many thanks to all so far who have donated to this very worthwhile cause. Finally many thanks for this evenings attendance and we look forward to seeing you all at the Xmas bash next weekend (12th dec) and if not have a very good Christmas and prosperous new year from Stewart, Alan and myself and many thanks for all the members support over the 2009 season and look forward to seeing very soon. The January meet will be the 6th folks if you’re not too hung over!!!!! Those of you members who require servicing or any other work to your Porsche, may I remind all that Brian Miller motors, Edinburgh TEL NO.0131 443 7806 IS A PORSCHE SPECIALIST AND IN GERMAN MARQUES. Brian is a Porsche trained mechanic and has over 40 years experience in the business. His contact details are tony@typescape.com He is looking for winter themed articles or pictures in the snow or any article that would be of good reading in the dark winter night’s ahead. We look forward to seeing you all at the January 6th meet. Please remember we are at the The Bo-Ness Motor Museum, Bridgeness Road, Bo-Ness,EH51 9JR. for our monthly meet please come along 8pm start time.
