Hi Folks,

Just a reminder that Tuesday the 19th is our September Club Night at the Whipping Stocks, WA16 9EX.

In keeping with the latest demonstrations to keep our cars looking tip top we will meet Aiden of Dent Experts to demonstrate his skills and expertise and give us some insight to what can be achieved and how he works his magic. Hopefully the weather will allow us to be outside with the cars but if not I’m sure we can hear from Aiden in the pub.

As the light may be fading by the usual start time of 8:00pm, I have asked Aiden to join us from 7:00pm for us to get the most out of his visit.

We also have the inaugural Cheshire & Staffs Chippy Tea Run this Friday the 8th of September meeting at The Whipping Stocks and 18:00/ 18:15 to be on the road by 18:30 for a 30 to 40 minute run to a proper Fish & Chip shop where there is plenty of parking. They also have seating and tables inside if the weather doesn’t play ball.

On Monday the 11th of September we will see a number of us supporting the Galloways Society for Blind Track Day at Three Sisters Circuit in Wigan.

For those who can’t go and still want to support I’m sure Galloways would welcome any donations - http://www.galloways.org.uk

Other events that are on over the next week or so there is a car meet at the Cholmondeley Arms on Sunday the 10th. This was due to be held on the 3rd but was postponed to the 10th , it's a good day out with bacon butties and coffee available. We have supported this in the past and there was an amazing variety of cars in the car park. We haven't arranged a club meet as Ian, Gareth, Stef and myself are already otherwise engaged..... so if you want to attend this meet then please make your own way there. Look forward to seeing pictures from anyone who goes.

Also on the 10th of September, for anyone interested in an American and Classic car show, The Red Lion at Goostrey is throwing one - along with live entertainment and a bbq. We await details of the start times but there’s plenty on in September before any cars are prepared for winter hibernation.

Speaking of winter hibernation and preparation, a couple of ideas for the diary!

We are looking to arrange a drive over to Autobrite one Sunday to be shown ideas on preparing our cars for the winter months. Picking up further on the Chippy Tea Runs, your RO and ARO’s are busying themselves sampling new locations for future events to also include Curry Evenings and Sunday Coffee Mornings – truly something for everyone!

Finally, I’d like to welcome a few new members to the region, Brian Dixon, Hedley Gaynon and Graham Harris who joined in August along with Paul Murphy, Stephen Lockley and Anthony Garrod who joined us in July. We’ve already met a few of you at the recent events, hope you can all join the next meetings and events soon.

Best wishes from Gareth, Stef, Ian and myself – we’ll see you all soon.

Regards

Chris

Hi Folks,

Just a quick reminder that Tuesday the 19th is our next Cheshire & Staffs club night. Members from other regional are equally welcome so come along for 7:00pm at the Whipping Stocks near Knutsford :D

Aiden of Dent Experts will be on hand to demonstrate his dent removing skills - I expect there may be a queue of cars vying for his attention!

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Chris

Thanks to everyone who came to the September Club Night on Tuesday evening.

It was great to see some new members and faces – sorry if I didn’t manage to speak to everyone.

Aiden joined us from Dent Experts and we managed to see Aiden’s work before the light faded. He gave us an overview of the kinds of damage, dents and locations he can work on but as every dent is different it’s probably as well to contact him directly to see what he can do on your own car. He is well known already to a few members and has done some sterling work on our cars. He will be coming back to finish the work on the Boxster next week!

Our next club night will be on Tuesday the 17th of October at the Whipping Stocks at the usual time of 8:00pm. This may be our last club night at the Whipping Stocks due to the owner of Sam Smiths Brewery refusing to accommodate any club meetings of any club after the 8th of November. We are looking at alternative venues going forward and will be testing each one out over the next few weeks to come up with a shortlist to be considered at the October meeting. Potential options currently are The Bleeding Wolf near Congleton, The Windmill at Tabley, the Kilton Inn at Mere, the Golden Pheasant at Plumley and the Three Greyhounds at Allostock.

As well as the club night, there is plenty coming up in Cheshire & Staffs over the next few months to the end of the year for members to get involved and have some great days out.

The Tipec Central Region has organised a drive out for their members to the Garden Centre Trentham Gardens this Sunday the 24th of September for an informal chat and gathering over coffee and he has invited Cheshire & Staffs members to join them if they so desire meeting at Trentham Gardens at 10:00am.

On Sunday the 29th of October we will take our Halloween Drive through the region – dressing up cars and occupants is optional but fun!

We have the members Christmas meal booked in the diary for the 2nd of December at Sutton Hall in Macclesfield.

Stef will be emailing details of these events nearer the time and will setup the event on the regions Facebook page.

In other news, we are planning our own Garden Centre Coffee Morning on either the 8th or the 15th of October with Bridgemere Wyevale Garden Centre the likely venue near Nantwich. Again the finalised details will be emailed out and the event set up on the regions Facebook page.

A final hurrah for the year is that plans are being looked into for a members track day weekend in November.

The two venues are either Anglesey on Saturday the 4th of November or Oulton Park on Saturday the 18th of November with a run out around the Evo Triangle in North Wales the day before and an overnight stay ahead of the track day. Costs are indicated to be £149 to £169 for the track day and hotels indicated to be circa £80 for a double room in and around Betws-y-Coed. Places are likely to be limited so let me know if you're interested sooner rather than later. Places will be prioritised for Cheshire & Staffs members on a first come first served basis but members from other regions are welcome where places allow.

There is still time for anyone who isn't a member to join the club and join in! membership forms are at http://tipec.lpl-uk.com/application.php

Further updates and specifics on these events will be sent out by email to members once details are finalised.

Best wishes from Gareth, Stef, Ian and myself – we’ll see you all soon.

Regards

Chris
