A post on 968uk.com suggests there is a classic car meet/ event to help fund church roof repairs in Buxworth (near Whaley Bridge) on 13th and 14th September. I though it worth posting here as well if anyone is interested....

More details below:

Dear Friends,

I am organising a classic car & motorcycle gathering at my house The Old Vicarage, New Road, Buxworth, High Peak, SK23 7NH, in conjunction with St James Church, Buxworth, on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th September 2014.

The event will run from 10am until 5pm on both days.

The event is being run over two days to allow all classic car and bike enthusiasts an opportunity to bring along and show off their pride and joy as part of fund raising for the urgent repairs to the church roof.

A small entrance donation of £5 for cars and £3 for motorcycles will be charged on the day. Only one charge will be expected no matter how many machines/vehicles a person may bring along.

People on foot will also be asked to make a £3 donation. All proceeds going to the church.

The church will provide sandwiches, cakes and teas for sale on both days. All at very reasonable prices!

There will be raffle prizes to be won and a trophy handed out to ‘the best in show’ car and motorcycle.

We are hoping to have the current World Superbike rider Christian Iddon and his father ex TT rider Paul Iddon along to sign autographs and generally chat about things on two wheels.

I am not expecting it to be Mediterranean weather so there will be a number of gazebo’s erected to provide cover to the motorcycles should it be needed.

There will be parking for the show cars and bikes in both the church car park and the vicarage garden.

I do hope you can come along to make into a great weekend. If you can’t make it but have a close friend who can please get them to contact me.

If you have any questions just drop me an email or give me a call.

Regards,

David.

PS This is not a male only event! Wives and partners are very welcome!
