WEDNESDAY 3rd SEPTEMBER 2008 TIPEC SCOTLAND MINUTES
Stewart Gordon opened the meeting at the Boness Motor Museum, our first meeting at the new venue and welcomed all to the meeting and did mention that an excellent turn out was evident this evening some old but new faces and of course some new faces also, in particular Bill Drysdale a new member, welcome aboard Bill. There was 19 Porsches in the car park at the museum and 29 members in total, simply excellent guys and dolls!!!(EVEN THE LOCALS CAME OUT THE HOUSES AND SPIED ON THE CARS IN THE CAR PARK)
Stewart did ask on your thoughts to the National show and comments were welcome to be put forward however positive or negative also ideas and suggestions. General comments have been forwarded to Sean Smallman with reference to the National Show and Sean has replied to the Scottish region and it will be looked at for next years show, Sean did agree that there was room for improvements and certain aspects of the show will be addressed for next year. Sean did also mention that our comments were very much what others have said also. I am confident that next year will be a much improved show and we look forward to receiving information on those improvements.
Stewart then presented Martin Whitelaw and Arthur Mitchell with commemorative Trophy’s from the 2007 season with reference to members of the year. Well done guys!!!!.
Stewart did mention a big thanks to Alan Neilson (ARO) for arranging the new monthly meeting venue, an excellent choice Alan I have to say and everybody commented on how appropriate the new venue was. Stewart then went on to thank Neil Fraser (ARO) for arranging the Gaydon accommodation etc.
The Selkirk show was next on the list and it will be on the 21st of September meet arrangements will be 0830 sharp at dreghorn services just off the Edinburgh city bypass, please remember it will be raffle day folks so a something for the raffle please. A couple of places left for this show still and it is £2 a car, please pay Neil on the day.
James McLoughlan took the stance next and confirmed all the Ireland trip details and did mention a pre lunch meeting prior to the ferry on the Friday, lunch TBA and will let all know in advance. Looking forward to the trip James and anyone wishing to make a last minute decision and go on the trip please see James ASAP you can still go!! Many thanks for all the efforts on this trip James so far!!.
Stewart did mention xmas and nothing so far hard and fast so ideas etc to Stewart as we do need to get something booked soon, possibly somewhere local?
Stewart once again thanked all including Colin at the museum for his hospitality and see all at the Ireland trip and the Selkirk show or next months meet
