Post subject:  Scottish region January 2013 monthly meeting minutes

January 2013 TIPEC monthly
Meeting minutes.

A warm welcome to everyone in 2013 present and not present at tonight’s meeting. A new year and a new season to look forward to and let’s all hope some nice weather to go along with the 2013.

First of mention was the RO and ARO forms and election process to which Alan Neilson was re elected back in as ARO for Scotland and myself as RO. Alan and I are happy to continue on with our role as the guy’s serving the regions running requirements and look forward also to the new season about to start. Mike Steven our previous ARO has sadly had to step down due to family and work commitments but will still be a member, we wish Mike all the best meantime.

Next are the suggestion forms which have been handed out via email and physically to members a bit slow in getting those ideas back to us at present so please do take the time to spare a few moments to fill in your idea’s and return them to Alan or I at the February meeting or by email to us. ASAP guy’s and dolls, it’s your club so tell us what you want from the season soon to be.

The Spring run was discussed at tonight’s meeting by James McLauchlan going along with the idea of a North East England coastal run. James is in the middle of sourcing accommodation etc that the club will require and we are anticipating the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May or possibly the weekend after. James has a great habit of putting these runs together with enormous success and great content it has to be said. The recent Mull trip the region embarked on was fantastic all down to James also so well done James and we look forward to his findings and ideas for this up and coming run.

The Scottish Region annual dividend has been applied for at £4 per member and Alan and I have discussed that this will cover the regions annual BBQ and concourse event Inc trophies etc along with prizes for the autumn run quiz. Many thanks to the committee for there recent communication regarding the dividend process.

As you are all aware we keep the members informed by e-mail and this works very well for those who are unable to attend meetings etc. Within the next few weeks I will be setting up a Scottish region text info system this will simply be a text from time to time regarding up and coming shows and events that the region will be attending etc and it will be just a wee reminder to what is happening within the region and when it is happening for example if a show is coming up within the next 10 days or so then it will be a reminder in addition to the standard email we all receive. I will circulate a separate email soon and it will give you the option to be part of the text system or you may not wish to be part of the text system either way you will get the choice on which you prefer. Some of our members are not on email and a text might be beneficial instead, regardless it is another way of reaching all the members and keeping them informed. Those members who do not have e-mail or a mobile phone we will train a pigeon to deliver region activities. PMSL.

Soon to arrive to each region will be TIPEC Tax disc holders and window stickers, I have already sent a separate email out to everyone regarding this and how they will be distributed etc I will inform everyone when they arrive and it should be very soon.

Member Jamie McNeill has a friend who owns a karting circuit and this is an idea we are contemplating later on in the year i.e. the November time and possible a wee challenge against PCGB. Will keep you informed on that one also.

A couple of years ago we set up a Scottish Region website and unfortunaly this is no longer available to us due to cost so the national website is where we will relate to now and it is an excellent site and does have something for everyone on it http://www.tipec.net is the address.

Next month we will have the SVVF book out and we will decide on shows etc for the up and coming season etc along with ideas that you wish to make happen for the season ahead. I must stress the national show this year will be the 7th and 8th of September and it is TIPEC’s 20th anniversary and as per the recent All Torque it will be a 2 day event this year for the anniversary and looks to be a super weekend full on excellent content. There was a lot of interest at this meeting and a good few show of hands for those wishing to make the trip south, always a great weekend and I always attend and enjoy this weekend and of course we do for the 3 days i.e. down on the Friday. We will be looking to stay again at the Duncow Hotel in Rugby an innkeeper’s lodge hotel where they are doing the 3 nights and only pay for 2 offer. I will send a separate email regarding the accommodation etc. Please book up today as only limited rooms are available even this early on in the year and it will cost you nothing to reserve the room up to the day in question without financial penalty.
