TIPEC SCOTLAND MINUTES
Neil Fraser and Alan Neilson welcomed all to tonight’s meeting, 12 bodies and 4 porkers in the car park a cold snowy couple of days but I think the weather is on the up now.

First on this evening’s agenda was the issue of the vacant ARO position within the region. Mike Stevens had put himself forward for the position prior to this evening and at tonight’s meeting Mike was formally voted in and therefore becomes the new ARO for the TIPEC Scottish region with immediate effect. Mike has experience in the car club environment and I am sure his ideas and added energy will have nothing but a positive outcome on the region. A big warm welcome Mike from everyone!!

Next was the collection over the winter for the blind dogs for the blind. Stewart will arrange a date and presentation venue and the total amount was £100 for this worthwhile cause. A big thank you to everyone who donated to this charity.

Staying on the charity theme I myself will be cycling for charity on the 9th of September and I will attempt a 100 mile cycle in the pedal Scotland event along with others to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I will be looking for donations for the cycle and a big thank you to those who sponsored me last year in the 50 mile event, a total of £1200 was raised for the children’s cancer charity in Edinburgh ( CCLASP ) The region’s member’s did donate a good chunk of the money towards the total and I hope to have your same support and generosity for this years 100 mile event. A real worthwhile cause and I am sure we have all had someone close affected by it some point.

The TIPEC AGM will take place on the 22nd of this month, no one from the region will be attending and anything of relevance to arise from the meeting will be forwarded in due course.

Next was a general talk regarding up and coming shows/ events and there was a slight amendment to the original diary of events for the region. The Alford show on July 1st has now been replaced by the Glamis Castle show on the 8th July. This is because the Alford show is by special invitation only something I had overlooked when applying to attend the show by the region. The next event we are attending will be the car clinic day at SP AUTOBAHN on (Saturday) 14th April 10am kick off and we have a nice range of cars attending and will be an interesting and informative day from the Owner Stuart Paterson. Tea/Coffee and biscuits will be to hand and this is a free event to all TIPEC members. We will meet at Stirling services at 0930 then depart from there. The Glasgow Transport Museum visit is on the 22nd April (Sunday) at the new waterfront Museum, we have managed to secure exclusive parking in the events square whilst we visit the Museum and I suggest we be there for approx 0930/0945am to arrange the cars etc and decide on wee time slots to look after the cars etc whilst the public view them. We have 10 cars confirmed and could do with a couple more so if you would like to come along get in touch ASAP. The TIPEC national show is on the 27th May and we have 10 cars and 18 bodies confirmed for that one so that will be a nice weekend away in good company. Please refer to last month’s minutes for hotel arrangements etc.
Please get in touch if you wish to attend any of the shows on the dairy of events for the region this season. We are only too happy to help and contact details are listed below.

All torque deadline is Friday 6th April (today) so please get your articles etc of to Tony the club’s editor ASAP. Tony is always looking for Articles for the Magazine so get typing!!!

We have a special RARE BARN FIND 1969 911 presentation story lined up for next month’s meeting and this will be presented on a big screen via Laptop from Brendan Mullen club member in addition with the normal club meeting. We will conduct normal club meeting business then have a coffee break followed by the presentation by Brendan. Many thanks to Brendan for this and I myself can’t wait to see it, something different for a club meet folk’s so come along and enjoy.
