Good luck with segregating the dates, shame you couldn't combine as at the moment people hardly come to a monthly meeting so members of both clubs will now be forced to choose which one to go to (first or second sunday).

After all its about the cars and peoples interest in them not the actual club they are members of.......

its just a meet, as for forced....... !!! it gives people 2 opportunities and maybe that will up the ettedances if people have a choice they might even go to both with it being about the cars and I think this happens in most regions withoutb a problem, as i said we can get together for special things if we can sit and talk about it????

.........!!!! ????

Good luck

ok ! people arent forced to choose anything, there is no coercion involved it is just a different meeting on a different day, they may be forced to choose if the days were the same, as i see it this is giving people more choice and more car based things to do. Will you be coming??

The idea of the two clubs sharing a venue and a meeting was a good idea and was working well. Elliot stepped up and got things moving in a very difficult region geographically, both clubs have struggled to hold regular meets let alone organise events.

This fell down when the venue was changed and clearly this wasn't as well communicated as it could have been. As a Club we are responsible and if we are serious about a Lincolnshire Region we should have our own venue and monthly meeting. Having members pissed off because they don't know what is happening is unacceptable and fortunately Gordon is in a position to help.

What I would like to see (this goes for the whole club not just Lincs) is to continue the relationship with PCGB to make sure events organised by either club have enough support to keep things moving forward.

The rest is up to you guys in the area to support Gordon and Elliot. :)

Out of courtesy i should let you know that as i have now set up a full time porsche specialist parts and servicing workshop in Dunsby, Lincolnshire i am standing down as RO for PCGB as of July 18th (the PCGB Lincolnshire Tulip Rally date).

Richard Watkinson will be taking over - See Porsche Post for details.

Gordon - not sure what your beef is and why you were so defensive i was purely pointing out past problems.

A possible resolution would be to have the TIPEC and PCGB meetings on the same sunday and at the same venue but at different times - i.e TIPEC 11.00 to 13.00 , then dinner and the 14.00 to 16.00 for PCGB.

This will allow non members of one club to drift into the other and it also reduces the petrol bill for members of both clubs.

elliot, I dont have a beef, I was merely pointing out my reasoning. I am hoping to make the region work and I think a degree of separation wouldnt go amiss.

anyway good luck with the workshop venture, and at some point we may all pop round for tea and cakeand a look round.

paul, it wuld be cool to see you.

well the region hasnt really done anything for a while has it, so the only way to make it work is to try, of course the ways to not make it work are also quite plentiful.
for now I think we will go with the ones to make it work

:D

Hi Gordon, well its a start at least,I hope you can make it grow. Keep looking at our(SYNN) region website and East Midlands too. Most of our events should be within a good drive out distance from Lincolnshire,it would be good to see you and whoever else you can tempt along. You should get a copy of Morgans Yearbook which lists lots of car shows and related events throughout the year and is invaluable to any RO or ARO,details here http://www.morgansyearbook.co.uk .Its a compilation of events published by the Rotary club.Sunday July 25th we are at Doncaster Classic Car and Bike show, contact Ray(our RO) to book places,or see http://www.traditionalcarclub.co.uk for details. All the best, John. :)
