TIPEC SCOTLAND
JANUARY 2014 MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES.

A Happy New Year to all members at tonight's meeting. 10 bodies and all the Porkers tucked up in garages away form the nasty winter weather. The main purpose of tonight's meeting was to brainstorm ideas for the season ahead and plant a few seeds here and there.

First thing of mention was the upcoming Sunday lunch meeting on the 19th January. Unfortunately due to ‘plumbing works’ at the Brunston Golf clubhouse the lunch is cancelled. As a alternative Cath & Wildie are investigating the nearby Kirkmichael Arms. Straiton Road. Kirkmichael. Maybole KA19. The lunch date would be Sunday 26th January (a week later). Please get in touch with James ARO if you’re interested in the lunch.

We are currently looking into a spring weekend at the end of April / beginning of May in the lovely area of Portpatrick in Dumfries & Galloway. The North West Region is interested in joining us for this trip. The Fernhill Hotel in Portpatrick (which takes dogs) has quoted £288 for a Friday/Saturday night’s Dinner Bed & Breakfast on Friday/Saturday 25th/26th April or Friday/Saturday 2nd/3rd May. If any member has any suggestions for other accommodation around this time and area, or if you are interested in a provisional booking please get in touch with James ARO.

At the end of this month we shall have the 2014 SVVF book, which we can all sit down with and study the various shows that will be on in Scotland during 2014. We shall be looking at the new Tipec Annual show down south at Beaulie, I shall look in to accommodation etc for that ASAP. The date for the annual show is Sunday the 22nd June 2014. This is a fair travel for us up north approx 450 mile each way and a few have already expressed an interest in the new annual show. We will as normal make it a long weekend affair arriving on the Friday and departing on the Monday for those wishing to do so. Further details on the venue and the surrounding Beaulie area to follow in due course.

Also offered to the region is a restoration demo/buffet evening down in East Lothian by Bill Dalgetty’s classic car restorations. Full details again to follow in due course. Another must will be the annual BBQ and Concourse event, which always proves very popular.

A must for every Porsche owner this year is Scotland's largest gathering of Porsches at Calderglen Country Park in East Kilbride. A massive 100 Porsches assembled last year and tremendous thanks to Brain Wood for organising that show. Brian is looking to repeat the event this coming August/September. Full details TBC. All in all another busy and action packed season ahead folks and we are busy putting together the season as we speak.

We circulated suggestion forms and RO / ARO nomination forms out at tonight's meeting, in addition they have been circulated via email so fill them in and get them back ASAP.

Alan Neilson ARO West has decided to give up the position due to family and work commitments and is with immediate effect so this position is vacant at the present time. Alan has been a great help over the years and a long serving member who will still remain with the region as a member and fellow enthusiast. He is soon to be a father in March and we wish Maree and Alan (and bump) all the best and a baby seat will be required for the 944 for sure. Anyone wishing to be nominated, for this or any post, please complete the nomination form as per the paragraph above.

The next monthly meeting will be on the 5th of February 2014 and we will be finalising the 2014 diary of events, considering the nominations for RO and ARO and looking at your suggestion forms. If you are unable to attend the February meeting please submit your nomination(s) and suggestions via email to myself contact details below.
