Post subject:  Snow foaming a convertible

I have taken ownership of my first porsche, a boxster 2.7 2003.
The body work is in good condition for its age and I want to keep it washed, polished and waxed to improve this further and keep it in good condition, particularly as it will be stored outdoors for the time being.
Cleaning cars properly is new to me, mine have all been workhorses until now so I'm learning what I need to do.
As a convertible soft top, should I use snow foam before washing or will it damage the roof? I wouldn't spray directly onto the roof but would be worried that any overspray would damage or stain the material.
What do people on here do or recommend?
Thank you
John

All the soft tops cars I have washed have had no adverse issues with the snowfoam I use, which has a strong cleaning effect by itself. Typically they're designed for use on all materials, and it is the responsibility of the company to make you aware on the label of the product whether or not is incompatible with a certain material. If in doubt, check out the information on the product you're looking at. I have good experience with wax planet eight below snow foam.
