Post subject:  Help With Tyres

Hello All,
The old girl (944S2) is in need of 4 new tyres and I am unsure what make to go for. I have been quoted for some Pirelli P6000, Pirelli P7, Bridgestone RE050 and Goodyear Excellence but am unsure if these tyres are ok or if there are better makes around. Any advice would be most helpful.
Many Thanks,
Ken.

I fitted Toyo T1Rs to my S2 and they seem to be working fine, great grip wet or dry, lightened up the steering and reduced the tramlining, plus they were a good price @£300 for four and seem to be lasting well about 12 months now and 6Kmiles and still loads of tread on them. Bridgestone Turanza on my S2 cab when I had it, good all round tyre that last well.

Hi :)

Try Falken 452s...they will be cheaper than others and are great in the dry and good in the wet...

All the best Brett :)

I just put a pair of Uniroyal Rainsport 2 on the fronts of my S2 and will be doing the backs shortly, even though they don't need done legally. They get some good reviews and are not too pricey. £120 for the pair delivered off an eBay seller. I got them fitted myself.

If you look at the bottom of thes page they come No2 in the top 10 (by review)

Out of those I would choose either the P7s or the RE050s. Latter is meant to be a very good tyre.

T1-Rs on a previous car didn't last very long at all, and offered great wet weather grip but ok dry grip. P6000s are the opposite, but are appauling in the wet (I can get my S2 sideways without barely trying at 20mph...That's on P6000s all round).
