Post subject: | Cookie cutters |
I have some cookie cutters which are in need of refurbishment. They have the centre spoke area painted black. I have a few questions if people can help: Firstly what finish is the standard cookie cutter i.e. are they just polished or are they coated and is the paint Matt or Gloss? Secondly, does anyone know of a decent place that will do them in the Glasgow area? Last one, what centre's do I need to buy for them? Thanks in advance for any advice. |

Hi JackJosh Firstly I think cookie cutters were available in a silver, either painted or power coating I think, and like yours, black centres with polished outer rim. The black centre could be gloss or satin, not 100% on that though. The centre caps should be like the ones on these; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-cookie-cutter-alloys-/321336940023?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item4ad12c95f7 (can't find any on ebay just now!) may be worth trying your local Official Porsche Centre for the caps (or put a wanted post in for sale section on here) and I think they do wheel refurbishment too. Usually about £50 a wheel at most professional places, so could be about the same at OPC. hope this helps out a bit. |

Thanks for that, I had not given using an OPC a thought, I have a set of teledials that I will probably sell to part fund the refurb. |

No problem. Always worth asking at OPC as they can be surprisingly competitive on price with some parts, plus you may get a discount (about 10% I think) being a member of TIPEC. |

I have just got 4 wheels in great condition complete with centre caps with a full set of Firestones with 6 mm tread for £140, how good is that? |
