Ive currently got a set of s2 D90 alloys (had standard teledials previously) on my 86 '(D registered) 944 lux, and they seem to be the wrong offset and too far in the arches.

Ive mentioned a poss px to him and he seems ok with that as they should fit his 944 as he needs the later offset.

And the additional rear width will fit ok in the arches?

Just need someone to confirm that these will fit. Any ideas?

If yours is the later oval dash then they might (With the right spacer). Mine has these alloys on but with 245/40 rears & 205/45 fronts. The extra 10 mm at the rear 5mm each side may catch the arch/trailing arm. Theres little clearance on mine. Also have Avons but a different tread pattern. What tyres are they? Sorry can't be more help.

What year is your 944? Mine should have the later offset(86 year lux with oval dash) but doesnt seem to , hence why my D90'd sit too far in the arches.

Or could my alloys be from a 911?

Im sure ive seen them on some in the past?

The wheels on E Bay are small offset, around the 23 mark, god knows what they're off of I haven't got a clue!
Very late 86 944's changed to what is known as ABS offset or negative steer. So for a late car you'll be looking at 50-55 offset pre that it will be 20 or so.

The link to offsets is at the bottom of here.

I think i'll look at the old teledials i have tommorow and write down the numbers from the back of them to see if they sound similar to the ones offered on ebay. My 944 doesnt have ABS so im guessing is a early model type.

Neither does mine but does have ABS offsets! ABS only became an option in very late 86 hence the change. Also gives Negative offset steering which stops the pulling when you have a blowout.

Right , ive cleaned the back of my old teledials which were originally on the car.

They have stamped on the back of each one (front and rear) ET 23.3 so im guessing the other alloys im looking at will fit on the front but will they stick out too much on the rear?

Those wheels are an ok offset for any early dash 944 or any pre-abs oval dash cars, the d90's you have will be around et55 which is what you are looking at for the later/abs cars.

So the ET 15 rears will fit as well then?

Yes - They will be 8.5mm further out than ideal but should still have plenty of clearance to the arch lip.

If you are doing a part ex then I would recommend a trial fit before agreeing the deal for definate 8)

Went to rochdale to view the alloys on sunday, not in as quite as good condition as i'd been led to believe but the seller was very understanding and decided after checking over my d90's to do a straight swap instead!

I was very happy with that even though i will have to have them refurbished. I took them home very worried that they wouldnt fit but they have and look very nice in the arches (and spaced out much better than the d90's).

Pics to follow tommorow after i tax it. :)
