hello, I'm new here so please be gentle ![]() I recently bought a 944 and really pleased, I noticed the front drivers wheel is a little bit more forward that the passenger(left) side. in the paperwork I noticed that there is an adjustment that can move a wheel forward and I am assuming that it has been put to far forward. it's not a huge amount but it just doesn't look as central as the passenger side. where's the adjuster and how do you move the wheel back ? Is this visual? Can't feel the drive turning or pulling one side more then the other? Check all your pannle gaps and lines, could be the wing is out or front bumper, giving the issuaion the the wheel is out? Could mesure from the rear wheel back on each side. If it is out u will need a full realignment |

distance from rear of rear alloy to front of font alloy seems to be the same, but a bit difficult as I was on my own, but i'd say they're about the same to within 1 or 2 mm so not as far out as I 1st thought. maybe the tracking is out slighty, I'll get it checked Jason |

Like Terry said check the front panel gaps for badly fitted items, I would measure from the bottom of the strut where it meets the hub to the point where the bottom wishbone meets the car on both sides to see if they are the same or basically check geometry from the good side to the bad where good known points are available, you coul dalso check the disatance from the wheel centres front to back on both sides. It could be it has had a hit on a kerb which has slightly bent the strut or wishbone if you cant spot anything obvious and it will only be slight it might be best to get it to a garage and have the alignment checked. Daft question but I assume both front wheels are the same as are the tyres it coul dhave the same looking wheels with slightly different offsets which would move the wheels relative to the hubs. |
