Hi All, and especially Rav!

I have the following issues:

Drivers seat wont move backwards/forwards but does up and down

Electric windows - drivers window was working only, now both not working at all. I get nothing. I did have a bad rubber on the drivers side.

no 'tell tale' on dash for fog light - I am not even sure what should light up when fog lights on?

x1 rear fog not working. I have not checked bulb yet. So hope easy fix.

I have a seat motor and a window motor bought in case.

Gentlemen please throw your thoughts at me as I will start work as soon as she is back from having the brakes, CVs and wheel bearings done at the end of the week.

Thanks in advance!

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul :)

I can help with some of those lol...

The fog light warning light is built into the round switch you press, on both front and rear fogs..

So... Turn on headlights while ignition on and push switches IN...light in switch SHOULD illuminate....if not its a tiny little bulb in switch...

Drivers seat.... different motors for up/down and front back.... so could be switch or motor or cable disconnected.....try pressing switch with your head near seat and see if you can hear the motor turning....

Windows are switched seperately, fuses ???

All the best Brett :)

Note this applies to my 91 S4.
The windows, sunshine roof and rear wiper (if fitted) seemed to be all activated by the window controller, which is hidden under the passengers seat - when trying to operate ie the window do you hear a clicking noise coming from under passenger seat?

I have just removed my controller - cleaned up the main relay (there are 6 in total) my passenger window now works again, but not the other which has been kaput for sometime....... still checking the pcb board etc. will let you know what happens.

Hi Andrew,
That is only on 88 or 89 onwards models. The earlier models don't have that box fitted.

I haven't investigated too much yet, and had checked the fuses when first got the car. I suspect could be the relay, but after all advice and thoughts still.

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,
Sorry I did think there was a possibilty that it did not apply to your cars "year" - but when I get it sorted hopefully it may help others, as these electrical problems on 928’s are sometimes really baffling.

Thanks Andrew and helpful to others I am sure who have that box under there. I found out as I bought the later window switches in error that run to that box (which I didnt have) :-)

Regards
Paul
