 Post subject: handbrake light

My 944 handbrake light on the dashboard keeps flashing although the handbrake isn't engaged.

I take it it's just a loose wire somewhere .Where's the most obvious place to look please ?

It also indicates low brake fluid, so I'd check that ASAP because you may just have a leak somewhere. It may just be a bit low because of the pads wearing slightly but you never know.

Dodgy switch or connection? I can't see anything in the manual about the handbrake warning light, something jamming the switch.

Try the switch near the handbrake lever?

i had this or a similar problem, replaced the handbrake switch to cure
