So having received the Westphalia amp (see previous post) I started to fit it. First off was to see how many stations the radio could find with the original amp. Having done that, I then ran a temp aerial lead from the connection under the bonnet to the new amp, turned on and set the radio to seek, no b****dy difference! Cut a long story short, the aerial amp power supply was taken from the auto antenna terminal on the radio, switched 12 volt you would have thought, but no, only 9 volt. Re plumbed the power lead to good 12volt and even the original amp works. Having spent a tenner on the second amp, I connected in series with the first with amazing results. |
