Just found some production numbers for the 908.The coupes were the series 1 cars, chassis numbers 908-000 -908-031,32 cars in all, more than I thought ! Series 2 cars, the 908/02, chassis numbers 001-028 and series 3 cars ,the 908/3 003-013 making 71 altogether plus the two 909 "Bergspyders".At the same time Porsche were getting the 917 under way and built 25 "Production" cars for homologation purposes for the new up to 5 litre capacity class. They certainly were busy in 1968!!

Good searching!
Some of the 908/2 coupe chassis was also chopped around and made into longtails and spyders and flounders. The 908/3 was a alley chassis and completely different.
The story of the 25 917's is a interesting and funny one.apparently they had everyone in the factory building them even office staff, they was just frown together to get them in. When they was signed off they had to take them all apart again and build them properly.lol
Iv have some more pics to upload as I'm popping up there tomorrow for a cup of tea and a chat.He has been laying up the front half of the body shell this week so it should get quite exciting in the next thew weeks! fingers crossed.
