Hello, can anyone tell me how to tell if my Boxster (986) has the hard top fitting kit installed? And if its not got one, where I can buy one from & price? ![]() ![]() |

Hi Dave, Hard top fitting kit only consists of two insert on the car body side if I remember correctly. If you open your cab roof fully and look just behind the door shut (B-post) from above you will see a black plastic cap about the size of a ten pence piece, if you poke it out you will have either an empty hole or a key way insert fitted and secured via an allen key pinch bolt. If it's an empty hole you will need to buy a pair of inserts from Porsche approximately £40 +vat for a pair. If you are buying a second hand or after market hard top make sure it has all 3 catch fitted, some after market ones don't have the front center catch which means swopping it from your soft top which would be a bit of a pain I would imagine!
