I was working on My 986 today re-attaching the return spring under the passenger seat which I noticed was not attached at the rear of the seat.

Re-connected the battery and the car started but with a very lumpy idle and it was reluctant to rev past 2000 rpm.

Scanned for fault codes and got - P1502 State: Current DVE fault during spring test

I cleared the code and immediately the car returned to a smooth idle and would rev as it should.

Turn the car off, restart and its back to the rough idle and same code on the scanner.

I’ve Googled P1502 and it could be a throttle spring/wiring/sensor or in one thread on the Pelican Parts Forum it was a faulty DME.

The fact the car runs perfectly after the fault has been cleared makes me think its something simple.

Anyone else experienced this code?
