So, my friends 981S had to replace the battery, which just died on him. with the new Bosch AGM battery in place, the car seems to attempt a very brief crank occasionally & then nothing. Charged the battery full & even tried it on my 944 S2, which started immediately.
Car was given 4 year full service at Porsche last December. But, now every time you turn the ignition key on, the car states "Service Now". We have set the date & tried cranking numerous times, but no starter, except as mentioned, very rarely you hear the starter just about to engage & immediately stops.
No warning messages either.
Any help really appreciated.

Re: 2013 981S PDK won't crank!
From my research so far, it is most probably the Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) at fault. This seems to be a Cobra product fitted by Porsche.
No need for it here & apparently, do give problems, leaving car stranded.
My question now; how can I remove it from the car?
