I have not bought one yet,but can anybody tell me how water tight the soft top is ,as if I buy one I will be parked outside

They should be watertight, there are plenty of Boxster owners that don't have a garage

and if you're still worried, you could fit one of these.

It is an excellent hood. Mine is a replacement with a glass rear window but they are all double thickness & mine is 100% waterproof.

Based on 3.5 years ownership of a 986s, I'd say the Boxster roof is as good as any. Mine never leaked a drop (later, glass window roof).

My 987 is always outside and never leaks

Mines out 365 days a year, never leaked.
