Hi everyone,

Now winter has arrived I am looking for a good quality fitted outdoor car cover for my 2007 Cayman. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a good cover as there are so many to choose from??? I am seeing prices vary from £130 to £300???

Get a heavy weight one so the wind does not cause the cover to abrade your paint and one advertised as being a breathing outside waterproof cover.

I would suspect £300 is nearer the mark of what a good tailored one will cost.

Hi Jon
I have seen an official Porsche Cayman cover for £185, not a bad price I thought. Still pricey though.
I thought about keeping it well waxed over the winter and not bothering with a cover? I just don't know how much damage the frost can do though and the sun is an obvious problem??

Cheers for your reply Jon.

A well waxed car will stand up to the elements. I would not use a car cover.

Cheers Sean. Didn't bother with a cover in the end. Keeping it waxed and running it twice at week now. Seems to be coping fine, apart from the brake pads sticking to the discs even after a day or two of been stood, but I hear thats common on all modern Porsches. After 10 minutes of driving though, the brakes are always back to normal :D

Thanks for the replies.

Mine lives outdoors seems ok, well waxed and I get the same with the brakes though.
