Hi all,
As you know from previous posts, I am not getting my Carrera 4 until April and have been looking for Insurance for it.
I also own a Seat Leon, with 9 yrs no claims and as you know NCB is only used on one vehicle, I have tried a number of options, my NCB transfered to the Porsche and using 0 NCB for the Leon. Using NCB with Porsche £377 with Privilege and £300 extra to insure the Leon. Most insurance companies are roughly the same quotes, a few are outrageous too:~))
anyway I found a place classicline insurance, quoted £314 they do not use my NCB so I can keep it for the Leon.
They give you an agreed value; they quote "One of the main benefits that people like with classic car policies is that you can have an agreed value. If the car is over 5 years old. It means that you can get a valuation and place it on the policy. If there’s a total loss claim, you’ll then have no hassle and be paid out what your value was agreed value. No arguments, no hassle, just peace of mind in knowing the figure that will be written on the cheque.
I don't know what you think of this, any comments?

yep they are a decent outfit,Tipec members enjoy extra discounts from several insurance companies , and most of the firms discussed on our forum offer the benefits you mention. Suggest you trawl through them for a deal, although it sounds like you are getting into the ball park now. You will however get a better deal from them all if you are a club member :D

Been using them for the last 10 years or so, prices are competitive and they are decent bunch to talk to. Not had to claim so dont know how they perform under stress
They are offering what is known as a nett policy used on classic cars pretty standard really
Hope you enjoy the car when you pick it up

Have you tried Hagerty for a quote, they piggy-back your daily driver onto your classic and it reduces the policy cost

they have changed their classification, they do not like 911 or Porsches post 1990, I had been with them for several years, and they declined to quote on a classic policy for my 1996 car.

Oops, I thought it was classed as a classic if over 10 years old

Hagerty unfortunately have realigned the parameters, about 2-3 years ago now, shame I found them an excellent firm to deal with.
