Sorry Rob, I'm not from the area, although I'd probably call Jon Mitchell at JMG first if I was in your area. If he is busy and you can drive the extra miles, I think Barry Hart from Hartec does them? Both guys are on here and should reply to a private message.

Sorry I don't know anyone close to you, but sometimes it's worth going the extra few miles to get an expert. :D

Is it a tiptronic or Manual?

If it is a tiptronic I would recommend popping down to the workshop for us to check out whatever your problem is, as it would seem that a decent knowledge of the inner workings (mechanical, hydraulic, electrically and software) of the tiptronic Porsche transmissions (well ZF and Mercedes to be accurate) is pretty thin on the ground.

We have had lots of tiptronic cars come to us that have been to multiple main dealers and specialists before us, who have told the owners they need a transmission rebuild, who actually only needed the replacement of a sensor, or minor transmission component.

If it is a manual car, again, we have seen few of these completely fail, often the cause of issues can be simple and can be misdiagnosed as a transmission fault.

We offer a free inspection service if you would like an initial check over of your car and our opinion of how to proceed.

There is bound to be someone who will be advertising as a Porsche specialist around there, but none that I am aware of as being the real deal.
