Finally got around to curing the annoying rattling..

Solved a similar rattle myself..! Loose gurney.. Thought the threads in the tabs had been stripped, turns out they just needed some new Bolts..

I bought a VF1000 F2 for exactly the same reason, then the boss decided the decorating needed to start, Dam it

..or a small tab projecting from the trailing edge of a wing - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gurney_flap

Possibly called it that incorrectly, it's the highlighted piece in this schematic..

I have a spare one of those,

Got one tab missing, I planned to engineer a third brake light into it

On my ever increasing to do list, the VF 1000 has kept me busy, along with decorating, decking, garden sorting, cruise installation

Again, I am a day behind in posting updates  but more progress has been made. The very rare flying injector made not one but two appearances in my garage as I prised the things out of the inlet manifold. To say they were recalcitrant little bugg#*s is somewhat of an understatement and does not convey the effort required to evict them from their home of the last 29 years. Following on from the successful eviction, the brake booster was addressed with the wire brush to remove all the surface rust before rubbing down with some 240 grit wet n dry and then a generous coating of Bilt- Hambers Hydrate 80.

 still can't see - everything is highlighted in that schematic? never mind

But yes it is great to sort out those little jobs.... was just having a quick look over on rennlist yesterday and happened across a post where someone had updated the instrument panel lights to the latest smd leds that don't require any fiddling like the old jager kit that I currently have fitted. So spent an hour or so finding a UK supplier of similar leds and got them ordered, will post up a before and after when I get the job done :D

The jager kit I have is blue and looks bloody awful - can't wait to get back to a nice white illumination

Yep that's a Gurney flap named after Dan Gurney.
Sent my knocking shocker back to Gaz, very tempting Spoonerism there.

Not a kit as such - all credit goes to the post I found on rennlist that states which parts are needed -

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/843713-late-944-dash-leds-a-reference-post.html

I purchased the following items from the Amazon seller listed below -
https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?me=A3FFGLDLHKB0CN&marketplaceID=A1F83G8C2ARO7P

1 x T5 B8.5D Yellow
1 x T5 B8.5D Blue
5 x T5 B8.5D Green
10 x T5 B8.5D Red
3 x T10 W5W 501 168 194 5 x LED 360 degree White LED

BEFORE: My old terrible kit consisting of the Jager Engineering replacement LEDs for the main console lighting (didn't include instrument bulbs)

AFTER: Not done yet, on my many lists of jobs but will find 30 minutes to get it done hopefully over the weekend!

Started a search for a/c parts. Only been able to find stuff in the States. Long term project for the 3 hot days we may get next year.
