Hi All
So, just become the owner of my first Porsche- a 944 s2 Cab that appears to have been very well looked after. Ive had quite a few classics, mainly 1960's :Austin Healey, MG's, Triumphs, Scimitar Coupe (or Christine as she was aptly named) Volvo p1800's and a Jag mark 2. Been looking for something that could be used more often, and settled on the 944. Im located between Peterborough and Kings Lynn and wondered if anyone out there could recommend and independent workshop in the area?

Thanks guys,I'll pop some pics on here in the next few days. The cars in great shape but not been used much over the last few years- I have a few electrical gremlins to sort out (passenger window, door mirror, drivers door central locking). Unfortunately it seems workshop manuals that cover S2's are a bit scarce?

Welcome,

I have a Cabrio also.

The switch is a great place to start as regards the switch. The connector pins can crack and cause issues. Certainly the easiest place to start.

The central locking depends. No noise from the actuator will tell you straight away if it’s electrical or not. If you can here actuator, it’s likely the plastic clip that joins this to the locking pin. Once again a pretty easy fix.

Thanks Andy, that's much appreciated. Just been replacing the worn out bonnet struts/gas dampers. Do you know if theres anyone that sells the metal torpedo shaped clips that secures the strut to the underside of the bonnet? Mine have pretty much had it and I kind find anyone listing them online for sale.

I usually find if you can’t find it online go to your local Porsche Dealer. I’ve often been surprised what’s available and these silly little things can be cheaper.

It costs nothing to pop in and ask the parts guy.
