Hi all. Newbie here asking for a little advice on when to check your oil level, do you do it when the engine is cold or after it is warmed up and left to settle ?

Not sure about your Gen1, but on the Gen2, there is no dipstick and you have to check the oil level using the menu. On there, it will only work if the engine has warmed up enough and the car isn't moving i.e. it will tell you those conditions aren't true.

Cheers,
Bryan

It will automatically check the oil every now and then. When the engine is warm enough and you stop and turn off the engine with the key still in the ignition, the display will show the animated oil-checking display and it will count down until finished, leave the ignition turned on until it has finished, it takes a minute or so.
