Just had the wheels refurbed on my 83 car, being the first of the generation its obviously the best! No bells and whistles on this beast. Its a very nicely looked after car with 76k on the clock. I'm attempting to get it back to factory fresh. Front seats need centre sections and i'm think of getting one of the werk924 replacement dashes as they are starting to do them in brown from mid sept.

Took the opportunity of a rare sunny day for a drive to work.

I think I have finally managed to get the interior mirror glued to the windscreen after several attempts>

Yesterday I fixed the sunroof which had become stuck in the open position. The motor was going but nothing happened to move the roof panel back down. I assumed it would the cogs so requested price and availability from Leeds OPC, a little under £6 each if you're interested.

However, it turned out not to be the cogs at at all. I took the roof panel and the plastic covers from arm mechanism to see the cogs and they were both fine. To fix it I just needed to manually crank the arms back as far as allowed, then reset the arms into the retracted position. After that the roof went up and down again no problems.

Today I gave the car a clean and shine...

I cleaned the wheels of all the brake dust from the track session at Brands Hatch last weekend.
Removed the cabin fan speed resistor assembly and put it in some vinegar. Bought some new rear discs.

Squeezed my wife, our 2 boys and the dog into the 924 to visit Blenheim Palace for the festival of transport. There was a bit of everything there including a small scattering or Porsche's.

Also renewed the insurance for another year at £74 fully comp, 3k miles a year with Lancaster using the code CMM15 which was on the front a paper we got given at the above event.

Replaced clutch slave and oil cooler which had got a bit squashed after my recent visit to a hedge after a stuck throttle episode. The old cooler was clogged with all sorts of crud in the fins so wasn't very efficient. One of those jobs which takes much longer than it ought due to removal of bits to get at one awkward bolt and severe corrosion on one of the brackets which fell apart.
